Relationships and Communication

Relationships and communication is a powerful skill for students to learn. I would model this to my students through creating positive relationships with students and coworkers, and also communicating my thoughts in a clear and respectful manner.

I would embed this into my classroom through everyday activities. Through setting my expectation of respectful communication and encouraging collaborative group work and relationship building in my classroom. This is a skill that translates online and offline. This is especially important when talking with people or listening to people talk that you may disagree with. Teaching students that just because you disagree, doesn’t mean that you get to be hurtful or hateful towards that person. Seeking to understand viewpoints is a great way to understand each other and maintain a respectful relationship.
